Travel-Ready Nanny Needed For Active Chicago Family

Open
Nationwide

This active, on-the-go Chicago family is seeking an experienced nanny to support their energetic toddler and 6-month-old baby in a dynamic home.

  • Location: Chicago, IL
  • Ages of children: 2 year-old and a 6-month-old baby
  • Start Date: As soon as they find the right fit!
  • Schedule: Full-time, guaranteeing 50-60 hours per week, with the general schedule falling on Monday through Friday. Candidates can expect to work 10-12-hour shifts 3 days a week, and 2 days per week will be 8 hours or less. Flexibility to provide occasional overnight and weekend coverage as well as additional support while traveling will be appreciated.
  • Compensation: The family is offering $35-38/hour based on the 50-60-hour/week schedule, which equates to an annualized base compensation of $91k - $118,560. The family may be open to a higher compensation package commensurate with experience.
  • Benefits: The family will provide paid time off, paid holidays, a health insurance stipend, a vehicle for professional use, and relocation assistance for the right candidate.
  • Live-in/Live-out: Live-in. A private bedroom and bathroom will be provided.

Household Dynamic:

  • This warm and active Chicago-based family is excited to work with a responsible and adventurous nanny. Their 2 year-old son is described by his family as being incredibly smart, interactive, and full of energy! He is walking, talking, learning to read, and exploring! The family welcomed their second child into their home last November. A candidate who can actively engage with both kids and create a loving and developmentally supportive environment for the kids will be a great fit! They also have a beloved pet — a lively and friendly dog. Someone who is pet-friendly and comfortable in supporting light-pet care will be appreciated.
  • This is a dual-career household where both parents work as traveling, contract-based health providers. They work 3-6 months in each location before being assigned to a new destination, so relocation every 9-12 months is required, with advanced notice. The family cherishes spending quality time together and engaging in outdoor activities such as camping, hiking, sailing, and exploring new places. They enjoy taking sailboat tours during summer and would love a candidate to join them. A candidate who is travel-ready and eager to support the family through their exciting and ever-evolving adventures will fit in! The family values someone who prioritizes health and is committed to maintaining a balanced and healthy lifestyle.

Ideal candidate:

  • This position is ideal for someone adaptable, responsible, and genuinely excited about supporting a busy toddler and an infant. A passion for child development, the ability to plan engaging educational activities, and confidence in caring for an infant and toddler are essential. The ideal candidate values a health-oriented lifestyle, is organized to help balance household tasks, and communicates effectively to collaborate with parents.
  • Responsibilities include creating a safe and loving environment for the children to grow and thrive. This includes, but is not limited to meal prep for the toddler, bottle prep and cleaning for the baby, tidying, organizing of children’s areas and common areas, occasional errands, grocery shopping, pet care, before and after school routines, coordinating activities, and traveling with the family throughout the year.
  • While not a requirement for the role, the family would love to work with a candidate with an early education background and/or a bachelor’s degree, and someone who speaks Spanish/French, or any other language.

Qualifications:

  • 3 years of professional childcare experience
  • Knowledge and experience with age-appropriate developmental milestones for infants and toddlers
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Valid passport
  • Experience traveling with families and children
  • Experience caring for two children in a role
  • Ability to swim and comfortability caring for children in and near water
  • Pet friendly! Willing to support light pet care
  • Up to date on all vaccinations for the duration of employment (specifically Tdap and Flu)
